TMAT has also been shortlisted for three major industry awards: the Derbyshire Times ‘Business Personality of the Year Award’, The Manufacturer ‘SME Manufacturer of the Year Award’, and the EEF  ‘Innovative Operating Practices Award’.

The company’s success is based on a major research and development investment programme and in-depth training for every member of the workforce.  From apprenticeships to MBAs, the company fully supports training and development to help every employee reach their full potential.  The majority of the company’s 120 workforce is from the local area.  In the current recruitment drive, TMAT is looking for: Quality Managers, Quality Engineers, Team Leaders, Operators and Key Account Managers as well as planning to increase its Apprenticeship scheme.

AN AWARDING EXPERIENCE FOR TMAT

Excitement is building at TMAT as we find ourselves shortlisted for two major industry awards and in the running for a third.

During November we’ll be attending The Manufacturer of the Year Awards Ceremony in London where we’re shortlisted for the ‘SME Manufacturer of the Year’ category.  We’re up against some strong competition in this category and delighted to be in the final six companies.

Also this month, our MD Jason Lippitt will find out whether he has become the Derbyshire Times ‘Business Personality of the Year’.  Everyone at TMAT certainly thinks he’s a great business personality so we hope that the judges agree with us!

There’s also an Engineering Employers’ Federation event coming up where TMAT’s senior management team will find out whether we’re in the region’s shortlist for the EEF awards.

This year we’ve put huge investment into the company infrastructure, research and development and – most importantly – our employees, and in this difficult trading climate, we’ve grown by 20 per cent.  It’s great that our hard work and achievements are being recognised by others and everyone’s fingers are crossed that we’ll be returning with some shiny trophies!

TMAT Ltd received an outstanding report following a recent audit with one of its established customers. One of the UK’s largest OEM’s looked at the factory and its performance and was pleased to advise the manufacturer that its delivery performance was 100 per cent for the fourth month in a row.

Each and every product has also been delivered in full with no reported quality issues. The team of auditors were impressed by the site and commented on how great the factory floor looked and operated.

THREE EXAMS, THREE AND A HALF HOURS LONG EACH, IN THREE DAYS

A headline that sounds worthy of a gold medal! TMAT would like to applaud Rob Bates on his recent exam success.

Rob is currently working towards becoming CIMA qualified (Chartered Institute of Management Accounts) while in full-time employment here at TMAT. He recently found out that he has passed some of the CIMA exams which were particularly gruelling given the time scale between each paper.

Sitting three exams over three days was a challenge but Rob had been studying for them since February taking weekend classes and dedicating his evenings after work.

Rob started working in accounts straight after school, became AAT qualified and then commenced working towards the CIMA qualification. He has already passed the Managerial level of the qualification but aiming high Rob is now on target to becoming a qualified Management Accountant.

Now in the final stages of the course, TMAT would like to wish him the very best of luck for his final exam at the end of this month.
